WTL Wrap-Up – “Women and Leadership: Inspiring Women to Lead” – 01/07/12
Monday, January 9, 2012If you think “leadership” means you have to be making global changes to make a difference…think again. As a woman, we have many roles open to us where we can exhibit leadership and most of those positions take place at home, in our community and on our jobs.
My guest this past week, Louise Phipps Senft, Esq., Founder and CEO of Baltimore Mediation, knows all about leadership. She demonstrates it in her life every day – as a mom to five children, being active in her church and community, running a company she started in 1993, and traveling the world teaching leadership skills to women and men alike.
We discussed leadership opportunities for women and the special talents women bring to the table in their positions of leadership. We also discussed why Louise encourages women to “Know thyself.” Learning to center, practice self-awareness and using the self-discovery tool, the Enneagram, are ways Louise believes we can become authentic leaders.
If you missed the show or want to share it with someone, check out the podcast archive later on this week – around Wednesday or Thursday – you’ll be glad you did and perhaps open yourself even more to becoming a leader in your own life.
You can also find out about Louise’s upcoming workshop with Joan Goldsmith – Conflict Transformation and Empowerment. Inspiring Women to Lead – a workshop designed exclusively for women on March 5-7, 2012, along with a host of other workshops on mediation, conflict resolution and the Enneagram at Baltimore Mediation.
