  • This Week on WomanTalk Live: “Where’s My Nest Egg? – Why Boomer Women Need to Re-Think Their Finances – TODAY” with Leonard Raskin

    Thursday, September 6, 2012

    Leonard Raskin

On this week’s show, we’re focusing on a specific group of women… those born between the years of 1946 and 1964 – the women who fall into the “Baby Boomer” demographic.  However, I would like to encourage anyone who doesn’t fall in that group, to stick with us.  This is important information for you, too.

In light of the fact that our investment portfolios may have taken a beating over the past several years AND saving for the future has been put on the backburner, many women are starting to ask themselves…”Where is my nest egg?”

Many women may be challenged financially in the coming years with no nest egg planning because of longer life spans and other considerations; however, single female baby boomers are the least prepared to financially navigate their senior years and very few have taken planning for their retirement seriously.[1]

Overall, this unique group of married and single women must look toward retirement differently than any of the previous generations of working women or women who stayed home to raise a family.

And the time is NOW – to see if what you’re doing makes sense or needs some adjustments OR to see how you can start working toward creating your nest egg.  That’s why this week, the WTL Wealth Expert, Leonard Raskin, CEO of Raskin Global and Women Getting Wise on Wealth, is coming in to talk with us about this issue.

We’ll be talking about how this scenario happened and what you should do now to start planning, because no matter whom you listen to and what statistics are used, the average retirement savings of female baby boomers is inadequate.

And, if you’re in the Baltimore Metro area, we’ll be telling you about the next educational session hosted by Women Getting Wise on Wealth – a series just for women.  Coming up on Wednesday, September 12th from  6-8 pm at the offices of Raskin Global in the Hunt Valley area, the topic is Investing in Your Future.  No pressure.  No sales.  It’s education, discussion and getting you on the right track.

We know that women are smart… and, it’s time for them to get even smarter about their finances and put themselves first for the future .

Join us on Saturday, September 8th from 6:07-7:00 pm ET on Talkradio 680 WCBM Baltimore or “Listen Live” online”

    Dharlene Marie Fahl

Last week, we had a delightful guest, Dharlene Marie Fahl a Certified Tea Specialist and a World Tea Traveler, and the author of Sereni-Tea: Seven Sips to Bliss.

However, we were definitely storm challenged that evening – losing/regaining our power.  So, if you missed the show, check the podcast archive for the September 1st show later this week.  If it’s not there, we’ll be sad… but, I’ll plan on having Dharlene Marie join us again sometime in the future.

Be sure to check her site.  She has a generous heart and is sharing a mp3 of her guided tea meditation just for you.  To receive it, just drop her an email at dharlenemarie@gmail.com and let her know you’re ready to tap into your bliss.

Thanks, Tricia.  It sure will.  I usually get the podcasts from the station the following Wed or Thurs and will have them up in the podcast archive on this site.  Will also post it on the WomanTalk Live Facebook page and on Twitter.  It is an important show!  Thanks for stopping by.
