This year marks Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake’s 14th year participating in
the Women Build program.
Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity volunteer initiative. Women Build members promote the empowerment of women, serving as community leaders who advocate and take action toward increasing affordable housing, while learning valuable construction skills on the build sites.
Each year, thousands of women volunteer at Habitat affiliates across the country, taking the initiative to raise awareness about the issues surrounding poverty housing and the drastic need for affordable housing. Women Build members have fun raising funds and encouraging other women to get involved with the mission of eliminating poverty housing.

The 2013 Baltimore Women’s Classic 5K

The Baltimore Women’s Classic is dedicated to promoting fitness and healthy living among all women while increasing awareness of women’s health issues. The guiding principle is the belief that athletic accomplishments are measured by healthy attitudes and by each woman reaching her own personal goals – not only by the quickest runners and winning race times. The race promotes a healthy spirit in our community where runners, volunteers and race organizers help women of all ages and abilities take strong steps toward a healthier lifestyle.
The funds raised help improve the quality of daily for families engaged in gynecologic cancer treatment – by providing services, such as transportation, grocery shopping, meal preparation, house cleaning and prescription drug co-payment.
Join us for the fourth WomanTalk Live Goes for 5! Team participation and our fifth year to sponsor the race. You can run, jog, or walk with us! We welcome everybody!

Women Entrepreneur’s Partnering for Profit (WEPP)
Embracing your network to expand your net worth
September 1, 2012 – August 31, 2013
WEPP is a 12-month program designed to support and promote the profitability of women entrepreneurs who are in their first five years of business and women who have been in business for over five years and are advocates for other women in business. This initiative provides value by means of “Partnership Clusters” – groups of earnest women entrepreneurs who possess an equal desire to grow, develop, and expand their profits through strategic partnerships. WEPP promotes an abundance mindset versus a scarcity mindset by linking women entrepreneurs who understand that exchange brings success.
WEPP will bridge the partnership & profit gap that so many women-owned businesses are missing. WEPP is specifically designed by a woman entrepreneur for women entrepreneurs to catapult profit earning potential by means of: (i) increased exposure and visibility, (ii) increased resources, (iii) increased sales; (iv) increased collaborations; and (v) increased access to expertise.
The WEPP program requires a level of commitment and service that only committed women entrepreneurs are willing to provide. This is an annual program.
