Girls Gone Great

GGG_LogoWork

Celebrating young women who are making a difference.

From 2007 through 2013, the WomanTalk Live Radio Show presented the Girls Gone Great Scholarship Essay Contest to honor a young woman in Maryland who was making a big difference in the community and one we felt would carry her passion and vision into the future to make a difference in the world.

WomanTalk Live knew that there were a lot more girls going great than girls going wild. The problem is we usually don’t get to hear about all of wonderful things young women are doing.

We know that young women have a voice, great ideas, make contributions, have hopes and dreams…and, we celebrate them all!

Girls Gone Great took a hiatus from 2014 to 2016 since the radio show was over and Ann relocated to the beautiful state of Vermont. But… you can’t keep a good thing down, can you?

In the fall of 2016, the Girls Gone Great Scholarship Award was re-introduced as part of The Grace Erline Memorial Scholarship Fund (GEMS) and the very first awards were presented in March 2017.

Meet the 2017 GEMS Girls Gone Great Scholarship Recipients and the GEMS Live An Amazing Life Grant Recipient

And, stay tuned for the 2018 application announcement to be rolled out in the fall of 2017.

Don’t forget to enjoy the essays from WomanTalk Live’s original six winners (links below).  They’re amazing young women.

And, keep your eyes peeled for girls you know in Maryland who are up to great things. We want to know them, too.
