Right now, in twenty-nine states, it is legal to fire someone simply for being gay or bisexual, and in thirty-eight states, it’s legal to fire someone for being transgender. And, even if your workplace is supportive, you can still run into issues with co-workers, clients or customers. So, the risk of coming out in your professional life, of living an authentic life, of being who you are, can be an agonizing decision with grave consequences for some. My guests in this Conscious Conversations Café are all successful, professional women who just happen to be gay. And, each of them has made a conscious, thoughtful decision to be who they are in their personal lives, in their community, and at work – to live their truth. Tune in to this conscious conversation about challenging assumptions, changing minds and being openly gay in the workplace.
Guests: Betsy Cerulo, CEO of AdNet/AccountNet; Susan Silber, Esq., partner at Silber, Perlman, Sigman & Tilev ; and, Lynette Brown, CPA/CFF, CVA, CGMA, MBA.
