This Week on WomanTalk Live: “How Conflict Will Make or Break Your Relationship” with Lori & Bob Hollander
Thursday, November 1, 2012The last time the WomanTalk Live Relationship Experts, Lori and Bob Hollander of Relationships Work, joined us, we talked about the four communication habits that lead to divorce. I cringed listening to them because I have to admit I’ve been guilty more than once of using one or more of them. It felt a little embarrassing until Lori and Bob assured me that many couples (including them) are “communication challenged” at times. The trouble in a relaitonship happens when destructive communication habits are the norm, when conflict is not handled in a productive way, and no one makes an attempt to change the pattern.
The chronic conflict and the way partners handle issues can be the downfall of the relationship. It’s easy to be lovey dovey when things are going well. However, when things are not going well – when there is constant conflict or one person is not speaking up but seething beneath the surface – divorce or living in a loveless, empty marriage or relationship is inevitable.
Since resolving conflict is such a strong predictor in making relationships and marriages last, why aren’t we better at these skills and what can we do to get better at them?
Well, of course, you tune in this week to hear my conversation with Lori and Bob who will be talking about the skills that all couples need to learn in order to manage conflict and how conflict can actually create more intimacy in a relationship (more intimacy – you read that right).
Plus, you’ll find out all about the brand new 4-week teleclass Lori and Bob are launching on Monday, November 12th – “3 Keys to Intimate Love for a Lifetime” - so that individuals and couples can learn these skills. To learn and practice these skills might be the best gift you give yourself or your relationship.
Join us on Saturday, November 3rd from 6:07- 7:00 pm ET on Talkradio 680 WCBM Baltimore or “Listen Live” online
