    Lesa Trevino

According to my guest this past week, Lesa Trevino, who works with the Saint Agnes Hospital well4life® Program, making changes in order to live a healthier lifestyle can be one of the most difficult things you can do – especially after practicing not-so-healthy habits for a long time.

So, what motivates us to change?  Well, in the case of creating a healthier lifestyle, it’s usually a BIG wake-up call – one of those calls that let’s you know you really have no choice if you want to stick around (think heart attack, diabetes, etc.).

The other reason people make changes is because of something internal – something within them that motivates them to start living life differently.  For example, Lesa mentioned that many people in the well4life® program decide to make healthy changes because they want to be around for their children, or their grandchildren and to be able to have a quality life with their family.

Regardless of the motivation, no one can make the change for you, and Lesa was here to tell us that the power to make any of our desired health changes always comes from within – and, unless we give our power away, we have what it takes to make it happen.

If you missed the show or you want to share it with a friend, it will be posted in the podcast archive later on this week.  It’s the February 2nd show.

Find out how you can tap into your own power and how support and help are out there to help you be successful in making healthy, sustainable changes.

This is fabulous advice for all of us. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind and life. It is tough to make the change but once you do, the results motivate you to make it permanent.

Lisa, I agree! Wish more of us could be motivated because we WANT to – rather than waiting for the wakeup call. Feeling great is the very best reward!
