WTL Wrap-Up: “Bitten by the Entrepreneurial Bug – How Women and Girls Are Following Their Passion”
Wednesday, July 24, 2013
Marcella Mollon-Williams, Gabrielle Jordan Williams,
Ann, Jayana Wood and Cheryl WoodMore and more women are leaving their traditional jobs to start businesses of their own or even beginning their careers working for themselves and carving out a niche for their talents. What’s even more surprising is that young women and even girls are being bitten by the very same entrepreneurial bug that has nipped at many women – discovering their talents and their passion at early ages.
Last week, joining me in the studio were three amazing entrepreneurs:
Cheryl Wood, an Empowerment Coach, speaker, author and encourager of women and girl entrepreneurs, and host of the upcoming Create Your Own Sizzle event on August 17th
Gabrielle Jordan Williams, a successful jewelry designer who started her jewelry design business, Jewelz of Jordan, at age 9 and has gone on to become an Amazon best-selling author and a TEDx speaker
Jayana Wood , the youngest entrepreneur in the studio at age 9, who will soon be releasing her first book, in a series of books, encouraging other kids to discover and follow their dreams
Some of the important tidbits shared by these inspiring ladies:
- the importance of positive self-talk
- the importance of hanging around with positive people
- the importance of distancing yourself from those who try to bring you down
- the importance of believing in yourself
- the importance of being able to stick to and/or adjust your plan
- their own role models
I’m always in awe of people who follow their passion and all three of these amazing ladies are on my list for women who are “doing it”.
If you missed the show or you want to share it with a friend, it will be posted in the podcast archive later on this week. It’s the July 20th show.
