WTL Wrap-Up: “Our Mothers, Ourselves – The Mother/Daughter Relationship” – a Conscious Conversation Café Show
Monday, July 29, 2013
Cherry-Lee Ward, Annmarie Kelly, Ann & Ann Keeler EvansThe mother/daughter relationship can be a complex one. In spite of the love bond, there are times when that bond is tested to the ultimate limit. And, sometimes those tests can last for years. And, unfortunately, in other situations, the love bond just never forms leaving both mother and daughter missing something important.
This past week, three amazing women joined me in the Conscious Conversations Café to discuss the complexity of the mother/daughter relationship from their own perspective, and in one case, from the point of view of being a mother to two teenage daughters:
Ann Keeler Evans, a writer, minister at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Susquehanna Valley in Northumberland, PA, and The Priestess at www.sacredvillage.org
Annmarie Kelly, a professional speaker, teacher, author, victory strategist, and Founder of the Victorious Woman Project
Cherry-Lee Ward, a contemporary shaman and healer. She is an Internationally known teacher, mentor and inspiring presenter. She works at New Paradigm Wellness in Timonium, Maryland, with Wayne Bonlie, M.D., who is a holistic physician and her husband, and her two daughters.
As we talked, we realized the similarities we all had experienced as children, teenagers, young women and adults, as well as the differences we had experienced in our relationships with our moms.
One thing we all agreed on is that as we mature and evolve, we have the opportunity to resolve many issues, let many of them go, and choose to have a grown-up relationship with our mothers, often for the very first time.
If you missed the show or you want to share it with a friend, it will be posted in the podcast archive later on this week. It’s the July 27th show.
