Women in History: Did You Know?
Thursday, March 7, 2013One hundred years ago, led by suffragette Inez Mulholland riding a white horse, more than 5,000 women marched down Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., to advocate for women gaining the right to vote.
This past Sunday, March 3rd, a 100th Anniversary March, led by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, started at the U.S. Capitol and retraced the original march and featured women in period costumes. Women, men and children were invited to join this anniversary celebration for women’s rights.
