Many of us can remember when career “options” were pretty limited for women and little girls weren’t encouraged to dream past what everyone thought was possible at the time. And, even though many women figured it out as they got older (often mid-life) – it’s always great to talk with someone who definitely thinks outside the box and does something about it. Jo Ellen didn’t spend her childhood dreaming about owning a residential and commercial construction repair company. Never even entered her mind. However, when life does what it does sometimes, we are often challenged to move in another direction and that’s exactly what she did. And, not only is she a tool toting mama, she encourages other women to consider what working in the trades could mean for them. Women in Construction Week is coming up March 4-10th – a chance to celebrate all things about women in the trades. Jo Ellen filled us in on all of the details and why you may want to participate in some of the activities.
