It is estimated that 1 in 3 women and 1 and 6 men will be sexually assaulted in their lifetime. Sexual violence knows no single community, ethnicity or socio-economic group. Sexual violence is a social problem that many of us don’t feel comfortable talking about. But if we aren’t talking about sexual violence, how can we expect to stop it in our communities? April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and helping us get a grasp on the issue of sexual violence and what we can do to stop it in our communities are Jennie Boden and Kathy Ferguson with the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA). Based on statistics, you and/or someone you know has been affected by sexual assault. Listen in to our conversation on this important topic.
Guests: Jennie Boden, Executive Director, Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA), Kathy Ferguson, Program Manager, Women of Color Network (WOCN) at MCASA
