On a summer night back in August 2012, a teenage party got out of control and left us asking these questions:  How could something like this happen – especially when we often focus on what’s going wrong for women in other countries?  What were these kids thinking?  Why didn’t anyone come forward and say, “This is really wrong. STOP!”  Why would young people take part in a horrible social media frenzy during and after the event?  Where were the adults?

I’d seen and gobbled up every bit of info about the case itself and the trial of two football stars from Steubenville, Ohio and Jane Doe, their victim.  All of their lives will be forever changed.  My guest joined me to talk about the case that she’s been consumed with ever since it happened. In fact, she’s known as the blogger who broke open the case and made sure the whole world knew.

What good can come from this?  That we realize that incidents just like Steubenville are happening all over our country to some degree.  That we begin to talk about the subject of rape and victim-blaming.  That we have conversations with our young people about what’s right and wrong, about responsibility and about consequences.  And, that we don’t ever let the conversation stop.
