The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education Coalition represents the broadest and most unified voice in advocating for policies to improve STEM education at all levels. An alliance of more than 500 business, professional, and education organizations, the Coalition works aggressively to raise awareness in Congress, the Administration, and other organizations about the critical role that STEM education plays in enabling the U.S. to remain the economic and technological leader of the global marketplace of the 21st century. One of STEM’s priority goals is to: Encourage and inspire more of our best and brightest students, especially those from underrepresented or disadvantaged groups, to study in STEM fields.  And one of these underrepresented groups is girls – who often grow up believing that science, technology, engineering and math professions are simply not for them.  Joining guest host Susan Bishop are three women with direct experience in the STEM fields of science, technology, engineering and math.  Tune in to find out about the issues surrounding girls and STEM fields – and perhaps you’ll even be the one who inspires a future FEMALE Nobel prize winner.
Guests:  Judy Carroll, President of Carroll Engineering, Inc.; Su Kim, the STEM Advocacy Program Specialist for Girl Scouts of Central Maryland; and Erikka Bishop, a soon-to-be college graduate, math major and future teacher
Guest Host: Susan Bishop, Unlocked Box
